Wagga Wagga

Hi guys.

Having been resident in Wagga Wagga for a few months I have joined the Wagga wagga 4 wd club .they are a great bunch of people similar to those in our own club though I think the average age here is a bit older .
Have attended couple of their meetings which are a lot shorter than Subie club meets .The meetings are held at the RSL club and I think it’s the camaraderie in the lounge after the meeting that attracts most of the members and keeps the meetings short .
They have the use of a local disused quarry for training days .I they had one just after my first meeting so went along and tried out the Landy .wish I had had the brumby here I could have really shown them a thing or two. Any way I was rather impressed with the way the Discovery handled the obstacles and had lots of fun in the “MUD HOLE” .
Unfortunately I had forgotten to take my camera so cant include any Photos, I think I’ll have to get a second camera just to keep in the car Tried to take some with my mobile phone but it decided it wouldn’t work either .several of the members took pics of me on the obstacles and mud hole but they aren’t on the website yet so cant include them .
Easter saw Mike and I head up to Mt Kosciuszko for a short break we drove up and camped at Thredbo on the Saturday night then Sunday caught the chairlift up to the mountain top walk . It’s a 3 km round trip with unique habitat the whole way. The walkway is mostly raised steel grates so that it is above the snow ,and the foot traffic doesn’t destroy the fragile environment .Having done several “Bridge to Brisbane.” Fun runs I didn’t think I would have a problem but that’s on the flat at sea level not uphill in a rarified atmosphere .Frequent rest stops became the order of the day and by the time I got back I was almost too tired to climb the stairs to the bar. I’ve crossed Climbing Mount Everest of my “to do” list . I’d like to do it again sometime but think I need some Hill and Altitude training before I do .
Well I’ll be back in Brisbane this month so might catch up with you all then I may be able to make the June meeting. Or maybe a trip or two .
Anyway I have attached some picks from the Kosciuszko trip .hope you find them interesting .
